Really good spot to surf, early in the morning is the best, getting the tide filling up, barrels, so beautiful beach, lots of fun on this spot.
Recreio
Recreio dos Bandeirantes, on regular days it becomes an easy ride, with a forgiving take off, and a wall that will hold its size all the way to the inside.
Macumba
This is a break different from the many others in Rio, since it has few residents around, making localism almost non-existent. Still, on a good day you might find 20 guys out, on a spread of beach of 100 yards.
Prainha
It’s a paradise spot. It’s a small beach with a virgin forest around. It is the first and unique beach park in Rio. Good parking, bathrooms, stores, snack bars.
Grumari
Grumari is the best surf beach in rio for surfers who hate crowds.. really cool place at the end of the beach you can easy paddle out.
Ponta das Canas
Ponta das Canas is a legendary wave that wakes up few times a year. When a really big east swell hits the island with light south winds there is a possibility for it to break a right-hander great for multiple maneuvers.
Praia Brava
Best conditions with East swell and South wind. Good spot for medium waves, tends to lose quality when bigger than 5 feet.
Praia dos Ingleses
Ingleses has several peaks along the beach, the peaks further north use to produce bigger waves.
Santinho
Located on the north of the island, Santinho is a pretty consistent spot, with good waves. E swells and NE winds are the best.
Canto das Aranhas
Canto das Aranhas is the end of Mocambique, It’s a great option in NE winds due to a rocky coast that protect the waves from these winds.
